A popular designer dog, the Mal-Shi is an adorable little dog that is ideal for a variety of lifestyles. Also known as Malti zu and the Malt-Tzu, this hybrid is easy-to-train and a delight to have around. This breed was designed to be a low-shedder, making him a popular companion for those who suffer from allergies. But he’s much more than that; he’s great with the kids and is content to cuddle on your lap at the end of the day.
Bold and outgoing, he’ll make friends with anyone he comes across, humans and animals. A wonderful family dog, the Mal-Shi can also make an amazing therapy dog, thanks to his good nature. To learn more about this social dog, please read on.
Developed in the 1990, the Mal-Shi was designed to be a low-shedding, hypoallergenic companion dog. One of the most popular hybrids in Australia, this breed is also gaining traction in North America and other countries, due to its small size and outgoing nature.
The Mal-Shi is the result of breeding purebred Maltese dogs with purebred Shih Tzus. There are some dogs that have been bred with Mal-Shis as the parents.
The Mal-Shi does well on a diet of high-quality kibble. Serving size depends on the brand, but the average amount would be 1/4 to 1/2 cup of kibble a day, divided into two meals.
I’ve been in a couple puppy stores this past week looking for a puppy and this one really surprised me. The customer service was great and the owner really took the time to get to know me and my family to help us find the right fit. Other stores I went in wouldn’t even let my children pet the puppies! …I highly recommend this store.
